Uluwatu is a popular surfing destination in Bali. It has some of the most beautiful beaches and is famed for it’s luxury cliff top resorts and villas. If you don’t surf, then besides eating and relaxing, there is not a lot to do here. There are a few attractions like Uluwatu Temple and the kecack and fire dance. But you would really come here either to surf or take it easy.
After almost ten days in Ubud, all we wanted was vitamin SEA and the beach! We took a taxi driver from Ubud (they are pretty cheap in Bali) to our new hotel Le Grande Bali in Uluwatu. The drive took about two hours. As we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff and besides our welcome drinks we got a better room than we booked! The hotel area is new, modern, clean, well designed and our room… well it was more like an apartment… with a beautiful pool view, was just amazing! This hotel is ideal for travelers seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. The resort is in a massive golf compound so it’s perfect if you’re into relaxing by the pool or playing at New Kuta Golf. They have good breakfast with so many choices and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful! Especially at that one evening, when I collapsed during our late night dinner date :D. On that day, we had a lot of activities. From swimming to biking, from sightseeing to two hours full body massage… I forgot to drink more water during that day and after our massage we went for dinner at the hotel restaurant (thank God we we’re the only guests! :D) and I fell into a faint during our main course 😀 Michael was pretty shocked but the staff helped immediately and was very kind! So thank you one more time! <3
On our way to Uluwatu, we stopped by a hidden, small and breathtakingly beautiful art gallery Dewa Putu Toris.
Welcome to Le Grande Bali!
When we arrived, we had two days of heavy rain.. but we wanted to make full use of it. So we got to see the Uluwatu Temple. This temple is definitely a must see. The scenery was so beautiful, we had a great moment there.
On the next day we borrowed bikes and made a little trip to Dreamland Beach, that is not so far away from our hotel. I’ve read a lot of positive reviews about this beach, but it was pretty dirty and apart from the beach in itself, everything that is around is just not that “dreamy” at all. It’s a great spot to relax and watch the heavy waves roll in. Even though I didn’t liked this beach so much, I was SOOoooo happy to be there because it was our first time on a beach in Bali.

Finally we got sunshine again!
Padang Padang Beach – This is such a dreamy beach! But can be a bit crowded. Water is clear and it’s a beautiful scene with rocks around it.
Because of so many people on Padang Padang Beach, we decided to visit Finn’S Beach Club, that provides an experience like no other in Bali! The location is fantastic! It is one one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! How do you come in? You pay about 30,-€ per person but 15,-€ is given you back as a credit to spend on food or drinks when you got down there. And you can stay there all day! We loved this place so much we came back again the next day! Bamboo style facing the beach with loads of loungers, a large infinity pool with a sunken bar, and perfectly positioned on the beach facing the sunset.
Me being sexy and romantic on Valentine’s Day… Bintang beer, french fries and chicken wings! 😀
The next day we came earlier in the morning and had the beach completely to ourselves… <3
